Who We Are
The Undergraduate International Law Review at Cornell is a pioneering legal publication dedicated to the exploration and analysis of international law from an undergraduate perspective. We are proud to be the first and only solely undergraduate law journal in the United States focused exclusively on international law. As a Registered Student Organization of Cornell University, UILRC is committed to advancing the study of international law and providing a platform for undergraduate students to publish their academic legal writing.
Our Vision
Our vision is to foster a deeper understanding of international law among undergraduates and to encourage critical thinking about the legal challenges that shape our global society. We believe that by engaging with international legal issues, students can develop the analytical skills and global perspectives needed to address the complex legal questions of our time.
What We Do
UILRC publishes biannual issues along with our blog that feature high-quality articles, essays, and commentaries on a wide range of topics within international law. Our contributors include undergraduates from Cornell University and other institutions, who offer fresh perspectives on contemporary legal debates, historical legal analysis, and theoretical explorations.
In addition to our publications, we host events, panel discussions, and guest lectures that bring together students, faculty, and legal professionals to discuss pressing issues in international law. These events provide opportunities for intellectual exchange, networking, and professional development.
At UILRC, we are more than just a journal—we are a community of passionate students who share a common interest in international law. Our members include writers, editors, event organizers, and legal enthusiasts who are committed to contributing to the global legal discourse. We value diversity of thought and encourage contributions from students with varied academic backgrounds and interests.
Our Community
International law is the framework that governs relations between nations, influences global policies, and affects the lives of people around the world. Understanding international law is essential for anyone interested in addressing global challenges such as human rights, environmental protection, trade, and conflict resolution. At UILRC, we believe that undergraduates have a vital role to play in these discussions, and we are dedicated to providing them with the resources and opportunities to do so.
