Welcome to the Undergraduate International Law Review at Cornell
Advancing the Study and Discourse of International Law
Welcome to the Undergraduate International Law Review at Cornell (UILRC), where we are dedicated to fostering a dynamic environment for the exploration and analysis of international law. As the first undergraduate law journal in the nation focusing on international law, we are proud to offer a unique platform for students to engage with complex legal issues that transcend borders and impact the global community.
The nation’s first undergraduate law journal dedicated to international law
The UILRC is the United States' first solely undergraduate law journal dedicated to international law. As a Registered Student Organization of Cornell University, we offer students the rare opportunity to publish their academic legal writing in a dedicated international law journal and to participate in meaningful discourse on legal developments.
Empowering Students to Shape the Future of International Law
At the UILRC, our mission is to promote the understanding and discussion of international law among undergraduates. We aim to bridge the gap between academia and the real-world application of legal principles, encouraging scholarly research, critical thinking, and a deeper appreciation of how international law shapes our world.

What we do?
At the Undergraduate International Law Review at Cornell, we provide a platform for undergraduates to engage in scholarly research and publish their work on international law. Through biannual publications, our blog, events, and discussions, we foster critical analysis and debate on global legal issues, connecting academia with real-world legal challenges. Our mission is to empower students to contribute to the evolving field of international law and build a foundation for future legal careers.
-
We publish biannual issues along with our blog which feature articles, essays, and commentaries on a wide range of topics within international law. Our publications are a testament to the intellectual rigor and diverse perspectives of our contributors, who analyze current events, legal theories, and historical developments.
-
UILRC hosts events, panel discussions, and guest lectures that bring together students, faculty, and legal professionals. These events are designed to enhance understanding of international law and provide networking opportunities for those interested in pursuing legal careers.
-
We collaborate with other student organizations, law reviews, and academic institutions to promote interdisciplinary learning and cross-cultural exchange. Through these partnerships, we aim to broaden the scope of our discussions and contribute to the global legal discourse.
“The common sense of mankind demands that law shall not stop with the punishment of petty crimes by little people. It must also reach men who possess themselves of great power and make deliberate and concerted use of it to set in motion evils which leave no home in the world untouched.
— Robert Jackson. Chief Prosecutor International Military Tribunal in Nuremberg and U.S. Supreme Court Justice
